August Online Guild Meeting
From Fast Fashion to Sustainable Stitching
Radha is a textile artist and sustainability educator based in San Francisco. She’s a passionate advocate for sustainable making, blending craftsmanship, heritage, and creativity into every project. After a 15-year career in the apparel and textile industry at Levi’s, she founded Sewing through Fog in 2022 to reconnect with my family’s rich sewing tradition.
Her lectures are infused with authenticity, humor, and heart, as she encourages others to find beauty in repurposing and to transform old fabrics into new treasures.
The Zoom link can be found in the Members Only section of the website.

October in-person guild meeting: Featuring Blair Stocker
As a former textile and apparel designer, Blair has a keen understanding of color, the relationships between them, and how to apply them to our quilts. Colors, as well as meaningful fabrics inspire my quilt design. She enjoys playing with the traditional idea of the “scrappy quilt”in a more modern way.
Understanding and using the color value differences between your fabrics in an intenional way can be a powerful design tool. It can create unique “sparkle” to your work. In this lecture, Blair will take you through a practical exploration of color value relationships between fabrics in your stash, how to understand it, and more importantly how to use it in your quilts. You will leave with brand new inspiration for your existing stash!
