Charity Zipper Bags
This year we've added zipper bags to our growing list of PMQG charity projects.
We're making a variety of zipper bags to donate to nonprofit organizations, including domestic violence centers and homeless and transition shelters.
Bring completed zipper bags to the monthly meetings and we will distribute them to the nominated charities. Show us your zipper bags on social media with the hashtag #PMQGzipperbags.
For our current zipper bag project (May through August), we'll be making pencil cases for local schoolchildren. The pencil cases will be distributed by Back-2-School FRESH at their annual fair in August.
If possible, fill your pencil case with a selection of school supplies, such as:
- pencil sharpeners
- colored pencils
- simple calculators
Our first nominated organization (January - April) was Rose Haven, which "serves women and children experiencing the trauma of abuse, loss of home and other disruptive life challenges."
Thank you to our generous PMQG members for sewing 43 beautiful bags and donating so many toiletries.
To see Rose Haven's most wanted items or to volunteer, please go to their website at www.rosehaven.org.
