Anna Joyce is an artist, teacher and author based in Portland, OR. Anna designs a line of hand dyed textiles and clothing and teaches sold out workshops around the country.
Anna is the author of two books, Stamp Stencil Pain, Abrams, NY2015 and the upcoming Hand Dyed: A Modern Guide to Dyeing in Brilliant Color, Spring 2019.
Indigo Dyeing with Anna Joyce

Learn the ancient art of hand dye using indigo! Spend an afternoon learning how to create beautiful, stylish patterns using the ancient art of indigo dyeing.
In this three hour workshop, we will concentrate on folded, tied and clamped resists to create beautiful patterns on a variety of cotton and natural fiber surfaces. Students will leave with beautiful stylish textiles for wardrobe and home.
- One yard of quilters cotton (perfect to use for home decor or sewing projects)
- One oversized flour sack tea towel
- All dye stuff provided
- Rubber gloves
Students are welcome to bring a few small, natural fiber items from home to dye as well. I can't wait to meet all of you!
Included in PMQG shop fee for the class is a $20 materials fee to Anna; she supplies ALL materials (indigo, tea towels, supplies, dye vats, etc) and you leave with 2 items and the skills to do it yourself at home!
